Mission in Haiti to be focus of Dec. 15 Mission Thursday

“Mission in Haiti – Challenges and Opportunities Today” will be the topic of the online Mission Thursday webinar planned by the Global Episcopal Mission Network for 1 p.m. on Dec. 15.

The format will be a roundtable discussion where Episcopal dioceses, congregations, religious orders and mission organizations are invited to share their perspectives on mission in what is an increasingly challenging environment of hunger, economic crisis and civil unrest in Haiti, the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere.

Over 20 Episcopal entities connected with GEMN have work in Haiti of various kinds – educational, medical, economic, structural or spiritual. The Diocese of Haiti is the largest diocese of the Episcopal Church, with over 100,000 members.

The discussion will be facilitated by the Rev. Jean Beniste (right), a native of Haiti who is rector of Christ Church, Waukegan, Illinois, and a member of the GEMN Board. Registration is accessible here on Eventbrite. Zoom connection information will be circulated after registration.

All are welcome, whether or not you currently have mission work in Haiti.
