Cameron Spoor joins GEMN staff as Promotion Coordinator

The Rev. Cameron Spoor has joined the GEMN staff as part-time Promotion Coordinator, starting in the position on July 8.

In calling for the position, the GEMN Board said, “The Promotion Coordinator will help amplify the Church’s witness in global mission through storytelling, outreach and development support.  This role helps tell the Good News of how the Episcopal Church and its partners are responding to God’s invitation to build relationships across the Anglican Communion and beyond.  The Promotion Coordinator helps lift up and resource this holy work through strategic communications, campaign coordination, and digital engagement.”

A priest of the Diocese of Texas, Cameron served with the Young Adult Service Corps as a teacher at Holy Cross School in Makhanda, South Africa, 2012-13.  He is a member of the diocese’s Committee for Global Partnerships in Mission, where he is team leader for the companionship with the Diocese of Southern Malawi.  He has helped plan, implement and evaluate multiple team pilgrimages.  He attended Missio in both 2023 and 2025.

Cameron serves as longterm supply clergy at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Bellville.  He is part-time development assistant at Welcome Table, “a source of abundance in East Austin,” a ministry that began in 1941 with the founding of St. James Episcopal Church.  His work at Welcome Table is similar to the position he is assuming at GEMN.  He annually assists at the Camp Allen Summer Camp.

Cameron holds the B.S. degree from Texas A&M University in psychology (2010), M.Ed. in educational psychology from Texas A&M (2011), and M.Div. from the University of the South (2019).  He is currently in the D.Min. program in homiletics at the University of the South.

“We are delighted that Cameron has joined the staff of GEMN,” said executive director Titus Presler.  “He brings fresh energy, skills and vision to the network’s ministry.  The Board and I are already enjoying working with him, and we look forward to how he will strengthen GEMN’s impact.”
