DIOCESE OF OREGON
The Rev. James Boston, jtboston@cdsnet.net, a member of the Board of Trustees of GEMN. Mrs. Pamela Boston, pboston@cdsnet.net
This relationship will enter a new phase in 2009. There will be a package of varied experiences that each parish and mission can explore and celebrate over a period of four to six weeks. It will include encounters with the liturgy and the Church of South India in music, food, Sunday School and youth activities, women's and men's activities, evangelism tools, stewardship and Bible study. A second opportunity is to match congregations between the two dioceses. The Indian diocese also sends its own missionaries out within Kerala to other parts of India and overseas. the have a movement of deeply engaged youth and young adults and Oregon wants to explore bringing some of these folks over here to train their young mission leaders. There is an eighty bed hospital in East Mallappally, India which provides free treatment to the poor and needy and diocesan convention offerings and a budgeted item in the budget were given to this facility.
