2017 Conference Book Recommendations

Our 2017 GEMN Global Mission Conference, May 24-26, at Camp McDowell, Nauvoo, AL will highlight the themes of Reconciliation and Partnership. We particularly recommend these two books for reading in conjunction with the conference. Click on the book for more information or to order.

Living Reconciliation. In a world often defined by differences, Christians are called to be reconciled reconcilers. Inspired by the indaba process of deep listening and seeking common ground, this book shares stories of profound reconciliation from around the Anglican Communion. Written by staff of the Anglican Communion Office and with a foreword by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Living Reconciliation explores how reconciliation is at the heart of mission and a guiding principle of scripture.

Pilgrims of Christ on the Muslim Road: Exploring a New Path Between Two Faiths. Today’s tensions between the ‘Islamic’ East and ‘Christian’ West run high. Paul-Gordon Chandler presents fresh thinking in the area of Christian-Muslim relations, showing how Christ, whom Islam reveres as a Prophet and Christianity worships as the divine Messiah, can close the gap between the two religions. Chandler boldly explores how these two major religions, which share much common heritage, can not only co-exist, but also enrich each other.
